Ghanaians urged to live in peace

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa Nsueam, Mrs Christina Cobbinah has advised the various religious and ethnic groups residing in the municipality to tolerate each other’s beliefs in orders to sustain peace in the area.

According to the MCE, this is the only way they can contribute in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere as Ghanaians prepares to go to the polls in December.

She said as a nation, they needed to work together to improve the developmental projects in the country.

Mrs. Cobbinah said this on Monday, when she hosted some senior citizens, traditional rulers and retired staff of government agencies in the municipality as part of celebrations marking Republic Day, which falls on July 1, of every year.

The senior citizens, who had played significant roles in the growth of the Tarkwa Nsueam assembly, were treated to old tunes.

The MCE called on senior citizens nationwide to stay focused on issues that are important to the society to enable them move on in life, adding that, bemoaning on their past deeds was not good for their health.

Mrs Cobbinah encouraged the youth to always remember that supporting and serving the elderly was next to service to God.

Prayers were said for senior citizens and the entire nation.**
