Koforidua, Mar. 6, GNA – Ghanaians have been asked to contribute their quota through their professions and careers towards making the country’s Independence more meaningful to the citizens. They should always ponder on the words of the National Anthem and resolve to live it to ensure the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of the country that all desired.
Rev. Father Foster Asiamah, priest of the Koforidua St. Bakhita Catholic Church, made the call when preaching at a Church service on Sunday to mark the 48th Independence Anniversary celebration. He led the congregation to sing the National Anthem and called on Christians to lead in the crusade for continued national progress through prayers, hard work, love and discipline for others to emulate. Father Asiamah cautioned the people against seeking cheap and dishonest means of obtaining their socio-economic pleasures, adding, “don’t ask what you can get from the nation but what you can do for national progress.”
Prayers were said for the President and his administration, peace and unity in the nation.
