Ghanaians urged to embrace the peace that comes with the birth of Christ

Rt. Rev. Titus K. Awotwi Pratt, Accra Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, has urged Ghanaians to embrace the peace that the birth of Jesus Christ has brought to humanity.

He said as Christ was given to the entire world, including the Jews and the Gentiles, individuals in the country should also endeavour to live in harmony with one another irrespective of their religious and political differences.

Rev. Awotwi said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday at the Christmas service of the Calvary Methodist Church in Accra.

He expressed the hope that the peace of God would guide the country as to how to solve the problems that confronted the nation according to His will.

Rev Awotwi challenged the youth to strive for greater heights even as they began to see themselves as leaders for the present and the future.

“I pray that the guiding stars of Bethlehem guide the youth in truth and true patriotism,” he said.

Very Rev Dr Kwesi Arthur-Mensah, Superintendent Minister of the Accra North Circuit of the Church, said it was important for believers and the entire nation to portray acts of love to one another during this season.

He encouraged the youth to place Christ at the centre of the celebrations and avoid indulging in activities that did not glorify the name of God.

Dr Arthur-Mensah said the youth ministry of the church had also organised a carols festival where the youth came together to celebrate Christ and were also advised on how to walk in holiness as Jesus Christ did.
