Ghanaians Urged To Defend Their Civil Rights

Dawhenya (Greater Accra), 22 Sept.,

Ghanaians have been advised to defend their rights as enshrined in the constitution. The advice was given by Mr. George Amanor, District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) for Dangme West, at a public forum at Dawhenya at the weekend. Speaking on ”fundamental human rights, a tool for social development”, Mr. Amanor said that even though the 1992 constitution is against unlawful detention, the police sometimes put people behind bars for more than 48 hours in contravention of the constitution.
