Breman Asikuma, Sept. 3, GNA- Mrs. Jesse Essel, Executive Officer of Blessed Hand Decor School, Breman Asikuma has appealed to Ghanaians to discharge their civic responsibilities by exercising their franchise in a peaceful manner during this year’s elections. She said, “one secret we need to be privy of, is that the political leaders are all friends and brothers who go about their campaign in a way that will enable them to obtain power” Mrs. Essel said this in her speech at the third graduation of the school at Breman Asikuma.
She said, “It is we, the supporters who create confusions and the unrest,” adding that, democracy and wining election does not mean fighting, insulting and abusing each other which at times resulted in conflicts.
“We need peace to cater for the children, the children need peace to concentrate on their books in order to become useful citizens in the future and the youth also need peace to learn a vocation to earn a living.
Mrs. Essel, giving an overview of the school’s operation said the Blessed Hand Decor is an institution that trains pupils to be professional decorators of event grounds, florist and bridal dresses, making hampers, decorate wedding cars, floral arrangements and balloon decoration.
She said the graduates have successfully undergone six months of these courses being offered by the institution. Mrs. Essel appealed to the District Assembly, NGO and other financial institutions to support persons who have acquired a vocation with micro finances to enable them firmly establish themselves to earn a living and be able to contribute positively towards the well-being of the society.
Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson, District Chief Executive for the area advised the graduates to make good use of the enormous skills and knowledge acquired in order that the huge investment made in their training will not be a waste.
He also urged them to honour their task obligations as their contributions towards the socio-economic development of the country. Mrs. Particia Osam Quaye, a Ghanaian Community Health Nurse based in London and also a Women Empowerment Activist, who chaired the function entreated parents and guardians to enroll their children, who could not make it to the senior high school, in vocational institutions to acquire skills. He advised them to eschew bad company, concentrate on their work and live lives worth emulating for their communities to benefit from their services.
