Ghanaians should refuse to give in to cynicism – Bishop

The Right Reverend Professor Osei Safo-Kantanka, Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, has urged Ghanaians to remain optimistic about the future and refuse to give in to cynicism.

He said: “although times are really hard, with a majority of the people going through economic difficulty” yet, they should not see their situation as hopeless, he advised.

“We should continue to trust in God, have self-belief and to commit themselves to positive thinking.”

Rev Prof Safo-Kantanka was performing the inauguration of the Nyinahin Circuit of the Methodist Church and the induction of its pioneer Superintendent Minister, the Very Rev Abraham Kweku Otchere, at a ceremony held at Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District.

The Rt Rev Prof Safo-Kantanka said Ghanaians should put the country ahead of individual comfort and convenience because “this is the path to travel to achieve national progress.”

“We need to accept to work hard, show patriotism and hold together to make things better,” he said. The Bishop advised the Superintendent Minister to be accountable, ensure openness and transparency and said this was critical to the growth of the Circuit.
