Ghanaians should ensure a disciplined society – NCCE

Madam Modesta Annie Sapaty, West Akyem Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education, says every Ghanaian has a vital role to play in building a strong, vibrant and disciplined society.

She has therefore challenged the citizenry to shy away from all forms of social indiscipline such as environmental degradation, violence, corruption, disrespect for the elderly and moral decadence.

Madam Sapaty, was interacting with staff and pupils of some schools in the municipality as part of activities marking the commission’s annual “citizenship week”, on the theme: “My Ghana: The Power of One,” being commemorated throughout the country.

Speaking on the topic: “A disciplined Ghana,” Madam Sapaty said there are laws governing the society, people must strive to obey them in order to ensure discipline.

She said for Ghana to develop, there is the need for every individual to be self-disciplined since that is the foundation for success.

A self-disciplined person Madam Sapaty said assumes responsibilities for his or her actions, respect the right of others, is truthful and honest at all times and also respect the religion of others and the minority in the society.

She commended Pinora Processing Limited at Asamankese for giving financial support to the commission which helped to make the celebration a success as well as the Forestry Commission at Kade for donating tree seedlings, to commemorate the week.
