Ghanaians must shun politicians who use intemperate language – Tourism Minister

Madam Akua Sena Dansua, Minister of Tourism, on Wednesday called on the public to demand accountability from politicians who use intemperate language to incite lawlessness and violence.

She made the call at the ongoing Third Ghana Policy Fair organised by the Ministry of Information in Accra.

The six-day fair on the theme: “Building Together in a Better Ghana,” is expected to bring together Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Greater Accra Region under one roof to provide a one-stop access to the public.

It is expected to provide the platform for the private sector to explore opportunities for possible collaboration that would rake in the much needed resources as well as create employment avenues for the youth.

The fair also serves as an avenue for people to interact freely with public officials.

Madam Dansua expressed disquiet at the posture taken by some politicians who speak abrasively on the media and other public platforms at the least or no provocation.

She expressed wonder whether such individuals came from Ghanaian homes where good manners are naturally taught as a matter of moral tradition.

Madam Dansua said she is confident that God would favour the country with a peaceful election, stressing that, Ghana would survive 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections scheduled for December.**
