Ghanaians must rise above partisan affiliations – Christian Council

The Christian Council of Ghana has called on Ghanaians to be vigilant, as well as seek and pursue peace as the nation prepares toward receiving the Supreme Court verdict.

Speaking at a press briefing, General Secretary of the Christian Council, Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong, said Ghanaians must not be misled by any individual or group.

According to him, the peace of the country must be everybody’s responsibility.

“We now find ourselves in a country where the seeming division of the two major political parties seems to submerge the allegiance of the citizens to their motherland.

“…It calls for the need of all Ghanaians to rise above partisan affiliation, religious segregation and ethnic differentiation to put Ghana first.

“The Christian Council of Ghana calls on citizens to be vigilant and not to be disillusioned by promises from any individual or groups”.
