‘Ghanaians must contribute quota to sustain peace’

Barima Owusu Asare, Benkumhene of Gomoa Dabayi in the Central Region, has urged Ghanaians, not to allow politicians to use them to destabilize the current peace and tranquility that existed in the country.

‘We have only one Ghana, and for that matter, as a people, we should contribute our quota to sustain the peace we are enjoying before, during and after the 2016 elections.’

Barima Asare who is also the Kyidomhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, made the call when he chaired a special thanksgiving and harvest service of the Presbyterian Church, (Bohner Congregation) at Gomoa Kwanyako.

The function was under the theme: ‘What Shall I Render Unto My God.’

Nana Kojo Frempong, the Church Harvest Chairman, in his welcome address, disclosed that the church’s numerical strength had grown, and there was the need for them to raise funds to expand the infrastructure.

Barima Asare emphasized the need for Ghanaians to not allow partisan politics to divide them, but rather to embrace the spirit of togetherness to develop the nation.

He appealed to Ministers of the Gospel to use the Word of God to sensitize their Congregation, to stand firm and expose people who would attempt to use them to create confusion in the country for their selfish ends before, during and after the 2016 elections.

The Kyidomhene urged parents to invest in the education of their children, to enable them become useful citizens in society, rather than wasting their resources on frivolous things.

Rev. S. F. Adjei, Minister in Charge of the Church, in a sermon, stressed the need for all and sundry to thank the Lord for bringing us this far in the midst of the numerous challenges facing the country.

He later led the congregation in a thanksgiving prayer, and asked for God’s continuous blessings on the nation.
