Ghanaians must change their mentality – KSM

Legon, April 29, GNA – Mr Kwaku Sintim Misa, a television host, on Tuesday appealed to Ghanaians to stop putting blame on others for their problems and take positive initiative towards the development of the country.

“The Ghanaian mentality of always shifting blame and responsibility to others does not work anymore”, Mr Misa, Chief Executive Officer of Sapphire Communications, said.

He said this at a day’s seminar organized by the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana in conjunction with Synergy Concept, a

Tema based non-governmental organization. Speaking under the theme; ‘Dynamic communication for a

competitive job market’, Mr Misa said Ghanaians had the ‘passenger

mentality’ of always expecting somebody to take up the responsibility. He said to enrich the human resource base of the country career

guidance must be included in the education curricula from the basic school to the tertiary level because the job market has become more competitive over the years.

Miss Phylicia Mortey, Chief Executive Officer of Synergy Concept,

advised the students to take advantage of such seminars to acquire

knowledge. Mr Peter Otokunor, Commonwealth Hall President, said the

seminar was part of the celebration of their hall week.
