Ghanaians living abroad urged to support development at home

Offinso, Jan 18, GNA – Mr Victor Amponsah, the Offinso Municipal Chief Executive, has appealed to Ghanaians living outside to be more supportive of development programmes at home. They should bring on board their expertise, knowledge, skills, as well as material resources to help the nation achieve rapid socio-economic progress.

Mr Amponsah was speaking at the inauguration of the Offinsoman Green Team, a group committed to the protection of the environment in the Offinso Municipality. He said the development of the nation was a shared responsibility and that all the people both at home and abroad should accept to do their bit to back the national drive at wealth creation and reducing poverty.

Mr Amponsah pledged the assembly’s readiness to join hands with Green Team to safeguard the environment. Mr Anim Addo Sampong, Leader of the Group, suggested to the Assembly to set a day aside to educate the people on environmental issues. This, he said, would help them to appreciate the need to avoid destroying the environment.
