Ghanaians in London pray for the Nation

A special prayer meeting has been held in London to invoke God?s blessings for peace and trouble-free Presidential and Parliamentary elections scheduled for December 7, 2004.

The theme for the one-day prayer was ?God Heal Our Land?. The event, organised and conducted by Rev. Mark Adu Gyamfi, Founder and President of the New Life Ministries was attended by a cross-section of the Ghanaian community including the clergy, representatives of political parties, chiefs and opinion leaders.

In a moving sermon, Rev. Adu-Gyamfi invoked God?s blessings for incident-free December 7 elections.

He said Ghanaians should be proud of the current peaceful political climate and exhorted them to continue to protect the orderly progress of the country from shackles of adventurers who were bent on derailing the onward march of the nation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kwabena Baah-Duodu, Deputy High Commissioner urged Ghanaians not to take the freedom and peace we currently enjoy as a nation for granted but make conscious effort to have a peaceful election. He asked Ghanaians to remember the nation in their daily prayers.

He was optimistic that God would extend his protective hands over the nation during the elections, in order to enable the country to move forward in its quest for prosperity.
