Ghanaians in Italy to celebrate Ghana@53

Ghanaians in Italy will celebrate Ghana’s 53rd year of Independence on Saturday March 13 in the city Verona.

The Council of Ghana Nationals Associations in Italy (COGNAI) has put up a program which will be hosted at Via Giovanni Minsoni 50 – located on ‘Corsa Milano’. The day’s event will begin with playing of the Ghana National Anthem at 14 hours, followed by history of Ghana and round up of current events in Ghana. The welcome address will be delivered by Omari Somuah, President of COGNAI. This will be followed by a march pass and a quiz program for the youth between the ages of 14-19 years. Questions will be on Africa, Ghanaian culture, history, geography and general knowledge.

There will also be address by Charles Baah – Minister and Head of the Consular Section of the Ghana Embassy in Rome. Presentation will also be made by representatives of Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), Ghana Free Zone Board (GFZB), Ghana Europe Business and Investment Centre (GEBIC) who will highlight on business investments in Ghana. Dr. Paul Dl-Nisio, a Ghanaian working with a Financial Institution in Milan, is also expected to address the gathering. The day’s activities will end with interlude of music and a variety show.
