Ghanaians in Ireland celebrate Ghana’s independence

Ghanaians from all walks of life gathered at the Phoenix Park in Dublin to mark Ghana’s 53rd independence anniversary celebrations. The occasion which was organised under the auspices of the Association of Ghanaians Professionals in Ireland (AGPI) was supported by the Asanteman Association of Ireland. Many Ghanaians and Irish nationals with interest in Ghana gathered at the park for a family fun day. There were various activities including music and dance, football, solidarity messages and to crown it all plenty to eat and drink. Welcoming the participants to the celebrations, Dr Vincent Agyapong, Chairperson of AGPI, thanked all Ghanaians who had demonstrated tremendous love for their country by attending the outdoor event. He expressed his gratitude to God for providing a wonderful weather for the occasion and expressed the hope that He would continue to bless the mother land. He advised the leaders of our country to seek first the interest of our dear nation before seeking their individual interests and to endeavour at all times to ensure that their actions and inactions are free of corrupt practices. The MC for the occasion was the renowned DJ in Dublin, Nana Yaw Frimpong. Live music was also provided by Nana Boakye.
