Ghanaians grateful to God for a successful Presidential inauguration

Ghanaians on Monday expressed gratitude to God for a successful Presidential Inaugural ceremony in Accra, which saw the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama on Monday.

Scores of Ghanaians interviewed by the Ghana News Agency after the inaugural ceremony expressed their gratitude to God and said they were happy to be part of it.

Mr Richard Haligah, a resident of Ashaiman, said it was a colourful ceremony which brought together Ghanaians from all walks of life, though the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of parliament boycotted the event.

He said the huge attendance by Ghanaians and dignitaries from the international community showed that President Mahama has been accepted worldwide and “we are proud of that.”

Mr Yussif Amuda of Kwamedanso in the Brong Ahafo Region said he prayed that President Mahama would, within the shortest time, initiate policies that would create more jobs.

Ms Margaret Awire who travelled Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region to witness the event said “am full of joy to see President Mahama take office today.” “God has been good to Ghana by giving us a good man to lead the nation for the next four years, and we are grateful,” he said.

Mrs Perfect Nutsuakor from Ketu North Constituency in the Volta Region described the inauguration as “very nice and cool…I thank God for today’s ceremony”.

She appealed to Ghanaians to unite and work together for the good of the nation for the next four years.

Mr Frank Opoku of Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region stated; “it is my greatest joy to see President Mahama assume office”.
