Ghanaians Deported from Mauritius In Numbers

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday said Ghanaians without the requisite papers were being deported from Mauritius to Kenya in their numbers and this was causing a problem for the Honorary Consulate of Ghana in Kenya.

An official statement signed by Mrs Joana Fosu for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said: “The Honorary Consulate in Kenya has been overwhelmed with the influx of Ghanaians to Mauritius through Kenya on transit on their deportation journey back home.

“Ghanaians travelling to Mauritius are, therefore, advised to ensure that they have all the requisite travel documents as well as adequate finances before embarking on such trips, in order to avoid deportation”, the statement said
