Ghanaians asked to vote for people with development visions – DCE

Ajumako Mando (C/R) Aug. 12, GNA – The District Chief Executive for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Mr Kenneth Obempong has urged Ghanaians to vote for only people who have the development of the country at heart during the coming elections. “We should not allow ourselves to be brain washed by people with sweet words soliciting for our votes, but we should look at for people who have the interest of the nation at heart” he said. Mr Obempong made the call at a fund raising harvest organized by the chiefs and people of Ajumako Mando as part of activities marking their annual Akwambo festival.

It was in aid of completing a Kindergarten and a Community Centre block being constructed by the people through self help. Mr Obrempong later handed over the keys of a Bus donated by the government to the District Director of the Ghana Education Service Mr Isaac Amonoo for presentation to Mando Senior High School. Mr Amonoo on behalf of the management of the school and the people of Mando thanked government for the gesture and said his office will closely monitor the use of the bus to prolong its life span. He appealed to the people to use their resources to support their children’s education for them to become useful future leaders. Nana Okufu Kwame Afful I, Odikro of the town appealed to politicians to advise their supporters to eschew the habit of using provocative and abusive language in the campaigns to avoid misunderstanding.

Mr Ato Forson and Mr William Atta Baiden, NDC and NPP, parliamentary candidates respectively for the area, graced the occasion and introduced themselves to people.
