Ghanaians asked to sustain national peace

Kumasi, Dec 23, GNA- Odiyifo (Prophet) Kwadwo Atta, Leader of the Holy Michael Miracle Church in Kumasi, has asked all religious groups to be at the forefront of the national crusade for the sustenance of the peace that existed before, during and after the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

He noted that the competitive nature of Election 2004 was a clear indication that Ghanaians are now very discerning and will not tolerate deceit from any political party.

Odiyifo Atta, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency, likened the re-election of President John Agyekum Kufuor as the second coming of Jesus Christ.

He explained that Jesus Christ was a sacrificial lamb for humanity and that he will appear for the second time to judge humanity. Odiyifo Atta therefore challenged President Kufuor and his government to tackle the long-standing socio-economic problems such as bribery, corruption and widespread indiscipline.

He said Government would have no excuse if its Positive Change Chapter Two failed Ghanaians.
