Ghanaians asked to support APRM

Stakeholders in the operations of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), has been called upon to effectively play their roles for Ghana to maintain the enviable position among other member countries.

Mr Kofi Marrah, Director of Technical Operations of National African Peer Review Mechanism Governing Council, who made the call, said it is very important for the citizenry to be acquainted with the APRM process, “if we are interested in genuine development as a country”.

Speaking at a pilot capacity building workshop on Strengthening the Role of the APRM in Promoting Good Governance at Zabzugu in the Northern Region, he said the benefits of the self-monitoring instrument could be achieved if stakeholders, from the national, local, government levels, the district oversight committees as well as service providers and the citizenry are aware of their roles and play them effectively.

He said: “All of us must ensure that good governance becomes our way of doing business,” Mr Marrah added.
