Accra, April 21, GNA- Mr Edward Bogyah, a blind Sight-Saving Volunteer, had described blindness as a tragedy, hence the need for Ghanaians to consult ophthalmologists with all eye problems. He advised people against self-medication, which he said could make them blind.
Mr Bogyah gave the advise in a public education programme on a public bus from Accra-Kasoa road.
Mr Bogyah cautioned against the use of herbal concoctions for eye infections.
“My predicament commenced in my infancy and I will not like anybody to be in my situation, therefore do not be enticed by hawkers who persuade you to buy their concoctions,” he said. Mr Bogya expressed concern that some drivers refuse to pick blind people, saying they must accord such patients support, respect and courtesy.
