Kumasi, Jan 1, GNA – Right Reverend Nuh Ben Abubekr, Bishop of the Kumasi Dioceses of the Methodist Church, has said God has positioned Ghanaians for blessings and that they should avoid negative practices. He said people should eschew such practices as drug trafficking, occultism, nepotism, bribery and corruption and others.
Rt Rev Abubekr was preaching at a Watch-Night Service to usher in the New Year at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Kumasi. He urged Ghanaians to contribute their quota towards development by paying their taxes and fulfilling other social commitments. Rev. John Kwabena Boachie, Superintendent Minister in charge of the Old Tafo Gospel Centre Assemblies of God, called on Ghanaians to pray against moral decadence, breaking of family system, poverty disease and famine.
He said the building of the nation could not be done by a singly party, tribe, religion or profession and called for unity to ensure the development of the country. 01 Jan 07
