Effiduase (Ash), April 08, GNA – Right Reverend Samuel Agyeman Kwakye, Bishop of the Asante-Effiduase Diocese of the Methodist Church, on Friday advised the youth to discard the desire to travel abroad to seek greener pastures and rather pursue higher academic laurels and professions to make them employable in the country.
He said the desire for quick had driven most of the country’s youth outside to engage in demeaning and dehumanising jobs at the expense of their education.
Rt-Rev Kwakye gave the advice at the opening of a three-day delegates’ conference of the Effiduase Diocesan Methodist Youth Fellowship at Asokore.
It is under the theme, “A Youth, Called and Ready to Serve”. Rt Rev Kwakye decried the current level of immorality among the youth in the church and cautioned them against the HIV/AIDS pandemic. He said the youth played a crucial role in the church and urged them to eschew laziness and petty squabbles, which often created divisions among them.
