Ghanaian Women’s Association Of Georgia (G-WAG) END OF YEAR PARTY, DECEMBER 11TH, 2010
Atlanta, Georgia – November 2010 — Get prepared for the long awaited G-WAG End of year event. Members of the Ghanaian Women’s Association of Georgia will be joined by several guests and well wishers to celebrate the Association’s 3rd annual end of year party, December 11th, 2010.
“The turnout at the second end of year party was a good indication of great progress within the Association. It was very exciting to see many like-minded members of the community equally eager for change and development, come together to be a part of a very great evening full of activities that showcased the core of Ghanaian culture.” Says Ms Evelyn Davies, President. “During the two years following inauguration, the organization has made great accomplishments ranging from volunteer work to multiple fundraisers leading to the ability to donate to and empower multiple Ghanaian women and children. This noble act of selfless giving is very encouraging, it provides a basis of hope for the immediate future and we are very excited about this organization and the greater good that can be achieved should we continue to work together” she added.
The Association will host its 3rd annual end of year dinner and fundraiser party in order to exhibit and to share our vision and efforts to bring change and development within the community. This year’s event will be held at The Great Hall of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church 1978 Mt. Vernon Rd., Dunwoody GA 30338.
The theme for the event is “Educating Our Children”. The primary objective of the event is to promote the mission and objectives of the association, as well as re-iterate the need to engage, empower and educate especially our women and youth. It is also a fundraiser to send books and other educational material to Ghana. Among the special guests will be business leaders, leaders of other Ghanaian Associations, various Queen Mothers, to name but a few.
The Association began as a result of a few dynamic and progressive minded women resolving to bring change and development within the Ghanaian community both here in Georgia and in Ghana. The Association shares the belief that when a woman is empowered, she is able to invest her knowledge and resources in her children, family, and eventually, her community.
G-WAG members share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to society and significant difference.
