December 31, 2010 (CHICAGO) — A Ghanaian cab driver is hospitalized after she presumably lit what she thought was fireworks inside her taxi Cab at the O’Hare International airport last Thursday, December 29 2010.
Police sources alleged that the driver for American Taxi, Mrs. Bebe Dzikunoo, was playing with fireworks ostensibly left by one of her passengers, when one exploded, seriously injuring her hand. Hospital sources claim that her badly injured hand might be amputated.
The sound of the explosion could be heard several blocks away from the American Cab stand at the airport. The incident happened around 3 p.m.
The Chicago Bomb and Arson Police are investigating the incident.
