Ghanaian Times

The Ghanaian Times carries a front-page story about the pathetic death a house-wife in Accra, through fire.

The paper reports that Diana Achaa Agyekum a 30-year-old housewife has been burnt to death at Chantan, a suburb of Accra. When fire gutted her room, destroying her property worth millions of cedis. Her 15-month-old baby with whom she was sleeping was rescued, the paper says.

The Times says Mr. Peter Agbada, a neighbour who rescued the baby, sustained burns but was treated and discharged. The paper says Diana’s charred body has been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary, adding that efforts by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to put out the fire proved futile, nothing was recovered from the room.
