Ghanaian Student based in London donates to Orphanage

Kumasi, Nov. 19, GNA – Master Leonard Lewis, a 15-year-old Ghanaian student based in London, has donated cash GH=A2480 to the Kumasi Children’s Home for the upkeep of the inmates.

Mr Alfred Cudjoe, uncle of master Lewis who made the donation on his behalf on Tuesday said the donor was motivated by the plight of most Ghanaian orphans and needy children whose predicament were brought about through no fault of theirs.

He said it was incumbent on non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and philanthropists to always donate generously towards the upkeep of under privileged children to help improve upon their living conditions. Mr Cudjoe called for stiffer punishment for parents who abandoned their children to serve as a deterrent to other offenders. Receiving the donation, Madam Victoria Asugna, Supervisor of the Home, thanked the donor for the gesture and called on other students to emulate him.
