Ghanaian men killed in Bronx

A man was killed by two gun-toting thugs who opened fire yesterday during a robbery on a street in Morris Heights, police said.

The victim, 34-year-old Ernest Atiso, from Osu Accra Ghana was sitting in his car parked at Davidson Avenue and West 147th Street down the block from his home at about 5 p.m. when the gunmen walked up and opened fire.

Atiso, who was hit once in the torso, was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

The killers fled on foot with his cellphone and an undisclosed sum of cash. Atiso was a well known tennis player in Ghana. He moved to New York a few years ago, where he coaches tennis.
