Ghanaian invents faster computer

A Ghanaian company has claimed it has manufactured the fastest and biggest computer server in the world and that the device, which is the world’s first Pentium dual computer, is two times faster that IBM’s latest computer which was recently adjudged the best. Mr Leslie Osei, President of Marles, manufacturers of the device – Elmina Virgin Pentium 11 400MHZ – said the device works faster when its work load increases. “The higher the performance the higher the speed”.

Asked whether everything is manufactured locally, he said “we manufacture the sound card locally and give specifications for the development of the other parts abroad”.

Mr Daniel Sowah, a representative of IBM in Ghana confirmed Mr Osei’s claim and said the new discovery is the only computer in the world today with a speed of 400MHZ.

“Though IBM has the technology, Marles is the first to manufacture and put it on the market”.

The device which comes with a two CD ROM drive, has the capacity to serve over 100 computers connected to it and is valued at 6,000 dollars.
