The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Ambrose Tuah, has disclosed high rate of examination malpractices in the country’s universities have compelled the Academic Board of British Universities to withdraw its recognition of degrees obtained in Ghana. Professor Tuah disclosing this at the 19th Annual Congress and Dinner of the Ghana Association of Agricultural Students (GAAS) in Kumasi, called on the country’s University Authorities and Students to co-operate, to check the malpractices in the Universities.
He said the Committee of Vice Chancellors will soon meet the Minister of Education to deliberate on the issue, and take firm corrective measures to redeem the image of the Universities, both within and outside the country. Professor Tuah announced that the buildings of the Faculty of Agriculture of the university are being rehabilitated at a cost of half a billion cedis. Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Clement Bugase, assured the students that his Ministry will maintain close relations with the faculty. He urged the students to be disciplined and take their courses seriously.
