Ghanaian Community at Tracey Towers host Government Official

The Ghanaian Community of Tracey Towers hosted the Ghana Consul General in New York and the Ghana deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Mr. Philbert Johnson & Mr. Bernard Quantson

The meeting was arranged by the executive of the Ghanaian Association of Tracey Towers. A section of the Ghanaian community, local chiefs, religious leaders, community leaders and interest groups who were invited were present.
Speaking on behalf of the associations, Mr. Addae Kwarteng, president of the Ghanaian Community at Tracey Towers, he thanked the officials for accepting the invitation to interact with them and share more light on Government policies to Ghanaians in the Diaspora.

The event got underway at approximately 11.30pm eastern time with an opening prayer, followed by national anthems of both Ghana and the United States of America. There were some traditional dance and performances by traditional group.
Ghanaian culture was on display with the chiefs, queen mothers and other traditional leaders dressed in their traditional regalia.

It was a good exchange during questions and answers. The official promised to work with the community in solving some of the problems raised and will convey other concerns out of their jurisdiction to the Government back home. He encourage all Ghanaians in the Diaspora to register with the Ghanaian Embassy in the USA.
They thanked the Association for organizing the event. The MC was Catherine Cudjoe who did an excellent job.

The officials appealed to all Ghanaians to join hands irrespective of one’s political affiliation to come together in solving the numerous problems facing the nation since Government cannot do it alone.
