Ghanaian Chief’s Birmingham visit

Chief Ghartey, of Winneba has been in Birmingham the last couple of days, fostering relationship between the city of Birmingham and Winneba.

In April 2008, All Africa Expeditions sent a delegation of dignitaries from the city of Birmingham to Ghana on a fact finding mission to adopt a sister city, Winneba was the city of choice.

Since Monday. Nana Ghartey has been in town and has had a very hectic schedule, including a visit to City Hall, where The Mayor presented him with the key to the city, lunch with the Ghanaian community, visits to several historic and cultural venues here in Birmingham, a private session with the mayor, visit to educational institutions, and yesterday a special reception hosted by the Tabernacle Church.
