Ghanaian Based In Holland Donates Trophies

Konongo (Ash), July 25, GNA – Mr Tony Bediako, a citizen of Konongo resident in Holland has donated 10 trophies and two sets of jerseys to the Asante-Akim North District Directorate of Education. The items are to be used to reward schools and circuits that excel in sporting activities in the District.

The donation also coincided with an Inter-Circuit sports festival organised by the Directorate for schools in the District that commenced from July 21-23 at Konongo.

Mr Bediako said as a former footballer in the District, he has decided to donate the trophies his widow’s mite to help raise the standard of sports in the district.

He pledged to provide more sports items to help equip the schools in the District to unearth sporting talents.

Mr Oppong Bediako-Poku, Asante-Akim North District Director of Education, who received the items, thanked Mr Bediako for the gesture. He said the items would be used to raise a formidable team in the District.

Konongo-Odumase South Circuit emerged the overall winners of the Inter-Circuits sports festival.

They receive a trophy and a set of jerseys.
