Ghana@50 Celebrated in UK

The Ghana High Commission in London held a grand reception to mark Ghana’s 50 independence anniversary at the plush Hilton in London. Diginarties at the event included His Excellency Mr Annan Arkyin Cato, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Hon John Prescott, the Deputy British Prime Minister, Dr Christopher Kolade, Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK as well as other Head of Missions and International organisations represented in the UK and representatives of Ghanaian Associations in the UK.

In his speech, the High Commissioner lauded Ghanaians for their contribution to the development of Ghana over the past 50 years and urged them to work even harder to help the country achieve middle income status in the not too distant future. Rt. Hon John Prescott congratulated the people of Ghana for the strides made during the 50 years and was optimistic that Ghana would continue to take the lead in democratic governance and socio-economic development in Africa.
