Ghana will not legalize gay practices- paramount chief

Bechem (B/A) Dec. 2, GNA – Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, Paramount Chief of Bechem Traditional Area in Brong-Ahafo on Thursday cautioned residents of the area to beware of homosexual and lesbian practices.

He deplored homosexuality and lesbianism as anathema to the norms and values of the society, and that they were prohibitions that contrasted the customs and traditions of the country.

The paramount chief declared the Bechem Traditional Council (BTC) would not tolerate the act in the area, and warned the youth particularly that those who would be caught involved would be dealt with drastically.

Nana Akoto gave the caution when he presided over a durbar jointly organised by the Regional Co-ordinating Council, the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) and German International Co-operation to mark the regional commemoration of the World AIDS’
