Ghana to explore tourism potentials of Mexico

Accra, June 24, GNA- Ghana and Mexico are to explore the possibility of exchange programmes in human resources development in the tourism sector.

President John Agyekum Kufuor said Ghana had a lot to learn from the tourism potentials of Mexico in addition to trade with Mexico. He was receiving the Letters of Credence of Mr Juan Antonio Mateos Cicero, Mexican Ambassador in Ghana, resident in Rabat, Morocco at the Castle, Osu on Thursday.

President Kufuor said both countries had cultural bonds that had to be developed for their mutual benefit.

Mr Cicero said Mexico appreciated the efforts made by ECOWAS under the leadership of President Kufuor to maintain peace and stability within the Sub-Region.

He said Mexico earned about 30 million dollars annually in revenue from tourism and pledged to make available the training facilities in tourism for Ghana to improve in that sector.
