Ghana to build sea defence wall along the coastal lines of Ada

Big Ada (GAR), April 17, GNA – Mr Rex Daniel Wussah, Dangme East District Chief Executive (DCE) has assured the chiefs and people of Ada that government would soon construct a sea defence wall along the coastal lines of Ada.

This, he said, would protect the town from the devastating effects of the territorial waters. Giving the assurance at a forum at Big Ada in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Wussah said all was set for Dredging International, the construction firm, to kick-start physical infrastructural work on the project.

The DCE told the chiefs and people that the President John Evans Atta Mills-led Administration would not fail them, but would surely honour its campaign promise by undertaking the sea defence project, to help bring economic benefits to the area. The chiefs announced efforts to re-locate some of the communities that would be affected by the construction of the defence wall.
