Ghana to become an aviation hub in sub-region

Accra, April 16, GNA – Mr Mike Hammah, Minster of Transport on Thursday reiterated government’s commitment to making Ghana the aviation hub in the Sub-Region.

“This indeed calls for proper infrastructure development, services and proper documentation to achieve this vision”.

Mr Hammah said this when the six-member committee charged to investigate the cause of the recent power outage at the Kotoka International Airport presented its report to him in Accra. He said the ministry was focused and would work hard to earn the country an FA category 1 standard. On March 2, 2009, some parts of the Kotoka airport experienced power outages. Mr Kingsford Laryea, Chairman of the Committee said the sub-station needed to be upgraded and interconnected. Mr Hammah said government would study the report and issue a white paper for immediate action.
