Ghana Signs Agreement for HIV/Aids Funding

Ghana has signed an agreement with the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to expand health care services for patients with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Since the international mechanism for disease funding was created in January, this agreement is the first to be finalized.

Two projects in Ghana are being funded with a total grant of $6.5 million. One project targets people living with HIV/AIDS and the other provides treatment for 20,000 tuberculosis patients.
