The Deputy Mayor of Chicago City in the USA, Mr. Charles Bowen paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police Nana Owusu Nsiah at the Police Headquarters.
Discussions centered on the need for an exchange program between the personnel of the Ghana Police Service and their counterparts in Chicago under the auspices of the US-Africa Sister Cities Conference Initiative. It also viewed training as an essential component in the development of a Police Officer to attain professionalism and efficiency in contemporary times.
The Deputy Mayor commended the Ghana Police Service for exhibiting professionalism in areas of traffic control and the provision of general security to all participants who visited Ghana during the Sister Cities Conference.
The Deputy Mayor also pledged to provide some towing vehicles to assist in removing stationary vehicles on Ghana’s highways. In addition two well-equipped ambulance vehicles would be provided on the Accra-Kumasi highway to assist accident victims.
The Inspector General of Police Nana Owusu Nsiah called for cooperation between Ghana and United States in the fight against global crime. He pledged the support of his administration to the US-Africa conference in the development of the two nations.
The Inspector General of Police used the opportunity to thank the Togolese security chiefs for their assistance and support leading to the arrest of a notorious armed robber John Malm and others. The IGP stated that interstate cooperation would be relevant in the fight against crime.

General of Police in charge of Administration Mrs. Elizabeth Mills Robertson, Headquarter s Schedule Officers, the Mayor of Accra, Mr. Solomon Offei Darko and Mr. Kludjeson, a Ghanaian businessman.
