The visit of the president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, to Ghana presents an opportunity to the West African country to renew its commitment to the pan-African enterprise, Ibrahim Irbard, a security analyst and peace ambassador, has said.
Mr Mugabe arrived in Ghana on Thursday August 18 for a four-day state visit. President John Mahama is expected to confer on Africa’s oldest president the Millennium Lifetime Achievement award for his role in Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle from British colonial rule.
Speaking in an interview with Prince Minkah, host of the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Thursday August 18, Mr Ibrahim said: “I think President Mugabe is a great leader leading the pan-African enterprise. Many of the giants have fallen, Gadhafi is gone.
“His visit presents the opportunity to renew our (Ghanaians’) commitment to the pan-African enterprise. He has shown he is quite resilient.”
