Ghana Medical Association elects new executives

Accra, Nov12, GNA – The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has elected Dr. Emmanuel Adom Winful, a Paediatrician at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, Akuapim-Mampong, as its new President. The appointment followed recent elections conducted at the end of the Association’s 49th Annual General Conference in Takoradi to elect a new National Executive Committee for the period 2007 to 2009.

A statement issued by the National Secretariat of the GMA on Monday said Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Adusei, a Medical Superintendent at the Suntreso Government Hospital, Kumasi, was elected Vice-President. Other executive members elected were Dr. Sodzi Sodzi-Tettey, General Secretary, Dr Frank Serebuor, Assistant General Secretary with Dr. Miriana Taylor and Dr. Gilbert Benjamin Buckle as Executive Members. The statement said Dr. Francis Adu-Ababio now becomes the immediate Past President and a Member of the National Executive Council of the Association. 12 Nov. 07
