Ghana hosts training programme for African NGOs

About 60 non governmental organizations from 26 African countries including Ghana based in rural areas and focused on promoting health related issues will soon benefit from a capacity-building training programme to enable them raise more funds for their projects and implement quality programmes for people in rural areas.

The seminar would also give the beneficiary organizations an opportunity to network with other community organizations to strengthen their relationship with people in rural areas.

The seminar has the objective of increasing the organization’s ability to undertake advocacy programmes and design and implement methods of monitoring and evaluating their own project, a statement signed by Dr Akudo Ikemba Anyanwu, Chief Executive Officer of Friends Africa, organizers of the seminar said. He said the seminar would be followed with a six month support programme where participants would be monitored to ensure that they meet the expected progress. “The Global Fund to fight AIDS TB and malaria recognizes the importance of community level organizations such as NGOs, CBOs and Faith-Based organizations as strategic on the ground resources for delivering key services,” the statement said.
