Ghana holds first Baby Festival in June

Accra, Feb. 8, GNA – Ghana will host the first baby to toddler Festi= val BabyFest Ghana 2011 from June 3-5, 2011.

It includes a pageant, summit (BabySUMMIT) and a fair (BabyFair) that will engage prospective parents, new parents and baby lovers to celebrate everything from the baby to the toddler using recreation, education and healthy interactive activities.

The event being organised by the management of Ticklz N’ Gigglz, an Event and Consulting Firm in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, is to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, promote gender equality and empower women.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday copied to the GNA said the even= t would offer parenting advice and enable participants discover services, information and products available during an exhibition which would provide everything from pregnancy, birth, babies to toddlers. It said information on adoption and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) would be provided for childless parents to share in the joy of parenting and encourage hospitals, banks, day-care centre operators, nutrition experts, paediatricians, pre-school specialists, midwives and other stakeholders to participate and showcase their services. “This is going to be the most sought after baby to toddler event eve= r to be celebrated in Ghana annually. It will put together education, recreation and Wellness to showcase and celebrate the beauty of motherhood and the art of parenting.

“Paying careful attention to babies, engaging them and having keen interest in their development is a long-term investment every parent needs to make,” the statement said.
