Ghana High Commission UK Must Stop This Practice

The Communications Committee OF NPP UK and Ireland would like to draw the attention to the Ghana High Comissioner, Professor Danso Boafo to the sale of photocopied Visa application forms from a grocery shop .BOOKSBY newsagents up hill about half a mile from the Embassy.

The facts are a young lady Cecelia went to the High commission on the 4th of November to collect a visa form She could not download a form from the High Commission website. When she arrived at the embassy she was told that there were no forms available. However she was told she could buy these forms from a shop up the road for 50 pence(10 Ghana Cedis) which she found surprising.

She went to this shop which is called Booksby newsagents and which is staffed by a Caucasian and an Indian gentleman and was sold a photocopy of the application form for 50p. When she asked how they came to possess such official documents. They said some officials brought them the forms to be sold. They also claimed to be consultants for the embassy, a comment we would like the High commissioner to explain to Ghanaians. We never knew grocery shops and newsagents sales staff can become visa form consultants and advisors

The NPP UK and Ireland would like to believe that our High commissions protocols, standards and practices are not been undermined by a few greedy individuals who wish to seek to exploit their fellow Ghanaians and also foreign visitors who may seek to travel to Ghana just to put extra money in their pockets. If we want to raise money honestly for our country and for the upkeep of its institutions Why not explain to Ghanaians, sell VISA APPLICATION FORMS AT THE EMBASSY BUT RATHER IN A CORNER SHOP?

BETTER GHANA AGENDA? WE BEG TO DIFFER!!!!
