Ghana Health Service undertakes anniversary walk

Accra, Feb. 21, GNA- The Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Saturday undertook a three-hour health walk to mark its first anniversary celebration.

The walk, which started from the Independence Square, took participants through Osu RE, Danquah Circle, Veterinary Junction, Ako Adjei, back to the starting point.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Eat Well, Stay Healthy and Live Longer”.

Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, Director-General of the GHS led the walk.

Addressing the participants after the walk, Prof Akosa said it was organized to create awareness among the public to realise the importance of undertaking exercises to ensure fitness and good health. He said the exercise would be a periodic affair to attract more people to get actively involved in keep fit exercises. He advised the gathering and the general public to take more vegetables in order to get more protein to help build the body. Professor Akosa thanked participants for responding to the walk, and urged them to keep it up in order to sustain the exercise.
