Ghana Gas not responsible for worsening power crisis – Ogbame

The Ghana Gas Company has stated that it is not connected in any way to the shortage in power supply that the nation is currently experiencing.

Reports had suggested that pressure pumps on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah were unable to support supply of gas to the Atuabo gas processing plant.

This prompted claims that the Ghana Gas Company is unable to deliver gas to the Volta River Authority for power generation.

But the Director of communications at the Ghana Gas company Alfred Ogbame in an interview with Starr News said their machines are capable of delivering any quantity of Gas that the VRA may require.

“As of now we operate and deliver what VRA wants, we cannot do anything less,” Ogbame said.

He added: “It is not true that we are suffering the deficit as a result of Ghana gas’ inability or incapability to produce to the maximum. Indeed I haven’t heard anything of that sort being said and as far as I know nobody has put that kind of information there”.
