Ghana First Movement inaugurated in Kumasi

Kumasi, June 22, GNA – The Ghana First Movement (GAFOM), a non-partisan organization, was on Wednesday inaugurated in Kumasi with a call on Ghanaians not to allow political, ethnic or religious affiliations to divide them.

Mr Kwaku Ohene-Addai, a Kumasi-based businessman and a patron of the movement, who made the call, said the nation has gone through turbulent hurdles in its socio-economic development and that Ghanaians should sustain the achievements gained so far and also work hard to improve on the living standard of the people.

He stressed the need for the youth to be imbued with sound moral values and the spirit of patriotism and nationalism to promote sustainable development.

Mr Ohene-Addai advised the Members of Parliament (MPs) not to allow partisanship to affect their deliberations and discussions in the house and should rather seek the interest, welfare, progress, peace and stability of the nation. Nana Osei Bonsu, Chairman of the movement, explained that GAFOM was aimed at promoting social justice, equality, nationalism and maintenance of rule of law in the country.

It also aims at promoting good governance and transparency, true democracy whiles also serving as a voice for human rights advocacy.

Nana Osei Bonsu advised the youth to desist from copying and adopting indecent foreign lifestyles, which he said, had affected the country’s rich and valuable cultural and traditional values and practices.
