Ghana Embassy rescues nine citizens lured to Burkina Faso in Q-NET scam

The Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso has rescued nine Ghanaians, including three women, after they were taken to the neighbouring country by Q-NET to take part in a Ponzi scheme.

The victims, who come from different parts of Ghana, were recruited after being lured to Burkina Faso, according to a statement from the embassy.

They were repatriated on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and received by Ghanaian border authorities and security agencies at Paga. Preparations have begun to reunite them with their families.

The victims were received at his office by the Immigration Service Paga Sector Commander, DCI William Kwame Sabi.

He warned them to be wary of opportunities that seem too good to be true and advised them to seek travel guidance from the appropriate authorities before accepting job offers or travelling abroad.
