Aburi(E/R), June 12, GNA- The Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, the Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quarshie, has observed that the country could slip into the quagmire of indebtedness if people in authority mismanage their mandate. He said most Ghanaians celebrate the riches of others without questioning the source of their wealth.
“It is a pity that the country has now turned into a society where we tend to celebrate the riches of our citizens without questioning the source of such riches,” he said during a sermon to confirm 17 members of the local St. Luke Anglican Church on Sunday. Rt. Rev. Quarshie said it was a shame that the country was gradually drifting into a permissive society without morals.
“People enter politics not to serve but to cheat, sex is glorified and the society seems to be losing its sense of decency,” he said. “It is, therefore, no surprise that things are getting worse and worse for us because by our own words, we do not have the capacity to perform better.”
Rt.Rev. Quarshie called on Christians to demonstrate their commitment to the religion by their lifestyles.
